I had my own brows tattooed about 5 years ago and this was when my interest in PMU really sparked. It felt like the natural progression for my beauty business – I love the more traditional beauty treatments, but I knew I could really unlock my creativity by learning permanent make up. I completed my training in October 2021 and I haven’t looked back since.
Fear of failing is probably the biggest one. I really have had to learn to be comfortable with the uncomfortable while I mastered my new craft. As a perfectionist, this was sometimes challenging. Having a good trainer and becoming a member of the PMU Circle has really helped me connect with other artists and troubleshoot when there have been challenges along the way.
I especially love doing Hairstroke Brows because they are so creative and I can really create a brow from nothing. I get a real sense of achievement when I finish a set of Hairstroke Brows and I love the reaction they get from clients that have usually gone years with sparse or over plucked brows. But, without sounding cliche, I really do love both Brows and Lip Blush Tattooing. Every set is always different, and sometimes challenging, but the reward is always the same at the end.
Word of mouth recommendations, reviews and checking out the artist’s work! Good reputations travel far, as do poor ones, but I also believe it is important to thoroughly do your research to make sure you are comfortable you have found the artist for you.
My aim is to always help my clients feel at ease in a safe and comfortable environment. Through subtle enhancements, I hope my clients leave with a new inner confidence so that they can show up feeling the best versions of themselves.
